Dagmar Berne (1866 – 1900) – the first female medical student in Australia

Dagmar Berne enrolled in medicine at the University of Sydney in 1885, she had connections to the Newtown area, attending Newtown Superior Public School, and practicing from a terrace in L’Avenue, now Warren Ball Avenue.
